'The Three Stooges': 5 other movies bringing back popular stories

"The Three Stooges" hits theaters this Friday, and over the next year, everything from '70s TV shows to '90s hit comedies are coming to the multiplex.

5. 'Red Dawn'

The 1984 film starred current and future Hollywood heavyweights Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey, and Lea Thompson as teenagers who are forced to stave off the Soviets when America is invaded. The remake, which swaps in North Korea as the primary villain, will star "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth, "The Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki of "Friday Night Lights," and "Drake & Josh" actor Josh Peck as the defenders.
