7. Pizza on the Grill by Elizabeth Karmel and Bob Blumer

'Pizza on the Grill' by Elizabeth Karmel and Bob Blumer (The Taunton Press, pp. 185)

A new update to their 2007 edition, pizza pros Elizabeth Karmel and Bob Blumer are back with their mouth-watering array of pizzas in "Pizza on the Grill: 100+ Feisty Fire-Roasted Recipes for Pizza and More." With 60 plus delicious varieties, the flatbread duo breaks down even the most complicated recipes. Their simple but effective 1-2-3 technique ensures that all ingredients cook properly, the simple but well-balanced crust recipes can hold some of the most innovative topping combinations, and the gluten free section of the book accounts for those with picky systems – or are simply picky eaters.

Some crowd pleasers include Blistered Corn, Asparagus, and Pesto Pizza, Day-After-Thanksgiving Pizza, Kung Pao Cashew Chicken Pizza, and Kansas City BBQ Chicken Pizza, so tastes all over the map will be satisfied. Although fancy tools, such as pizza pans or food mills for tomato sauces can be fun, the authors show you that all you really need to make great tasting pizza are delicious ingredients and a little creativity – and, of course, a grill.
