Voice recognition software, like Siri for the iPhone, emoticons and text message shorthand (i.e. "C U L8R!") are re-defining how we read and write. Babies born in 2014 will grow up in a world where more and more commands are spoken to computers, and actions are completed with the press of one button – tactile or virtual – instead of a combination of clicks on a keyboard.
