Not only will a baby girl be given the right to the throne, she will also receive a new title of distinction: "Her Royal Highness." Queen Elizabeth II – the new royal baby's great-grandmother – decided a newborn girl will be addressed the same way a boy is ("Royal Highness") instead of the previous, much simpler but gender-specific, “Lady.” The queen says she wishes to have all children of Prince William, the grandchildren of current heir to the throne Prince Charles, treated equally, regardless of gender.
