Police say 4-year-old girl in Northern California who was reported missing for hours was found safely sleeping under a bed.

Richmond Police Lt. Bisa French says the little girl was found just before midnight after family members reported her missing at grandmother's house in Richmond early Friday evening.

French says the girl was found in good condition sleeping underneath a bed inside her grandmother's home.

Police say the girl was surrounded by a lot of items in the room and that's why family members didn't see her.

Relatives said the girl likes to hide a lot. The girl's mother, Christine Nance, also expressed her gratitude and thanked police and the many relatives who helped search for her daughter.
