The age of supermodels is dropping dramatically as little girls related to aging supermodels such as Gisele Bundchen, Cindy Crawford, and Kate Moss hit the runways.
Following in the footsteps of her supermodel aunt Gisele Bundchen, five-year-old Duda Bundchen is now a model and fashion designer in her own right.
The youngster was named the face of Brazilian children’s clothing line Brandili Mundi last year. Not content to merely have her model the fashions, little Duda’s handlers have created a new gig for her designing a collaborative collection for the label, set to hit stores this July.

Duda is the newest in a recent line of children already tagged as future modeling stars. In January, Cindy Crawford’s 10-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber was unveiled as the face of the Young Versace brand, while the 13-year-old half sister of Kate Moss has already been photographed by the likes of fashion photographer Andrea Carter-Bowman.
Brandili Mundi marketing director Germano Costa told Forbes magazine that their newest designer had a say in the various prints, cuts and details of the line. All of the pieces were approved by her, whose “romantic inspiration will no doubt catch girls’ eyes.”
In a behind-the-scene video posted around the Internet, the diminutive blonde is shown posing for the line’s advertising campaign against a very spring-oriented backdrop. If the video is any indication, the line will be heavy on a series of light, ruffled dresses and Peter Pan-collared blouses.
Modeling of course is in the Bundchen genes. According to Forbes, the elder Bundchen and Victoria’s Secret headliner is the highest-earning supermodel in the world also won Best Green International Celebrity at the Green Awards in London last November. She also launched her own apparel collection that year, in collaboration with retailer C&A.
The 31-year-old Bundchen, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program, may also have instilled some of her passion for the environment in her niece. All of Duda’s clothing was designed and produced with eco-friendly materials, according to a Time magazine article.
