The 2009 film was the first animated movie since "Beauty and the Beast" to be nominated for Best Picture – it was also nominated for and won other prizes, including Original Score and Best Animated Feature. Actor John Ratzenberg voiced the character of Construction Foreman Tom, making him the only actor to voice a character in every Pixar film that has been released. Actor Jordan Nagai, who voices Russell, was chosen after he tagged along to the audition with his brother. Director Pete Docter noticed him because, like Russell, he wouldn't stop talking. The young version of Ellie, main character Carl's wife, was voiced by Docter's daughter Elizabeth, who also drew some of the drawings Ellie does in the film.
