Civilization V is a wonderful example of the best way to learn is to do. The strategy game (Macs and PCs) is a surprisingly fun yet brilliant lesson in civics. Players guide their nation from prehistoric times to future utopias. Along the way, you must keep your citizens happy – or rule them with an iron fist; race to expand your empire – or use diplomacy and trade to thrive; build armies to crush your neighbors – or win them over through soft power. Your decisions often echo world history. And the intuitive interface makes deciding "I'll play just one more turn" a little too easy.
