Google Reader is dead. Here are five alternatives.

Google Reader officially closed on Monday, leaving a void in the information aggregation market. Check out our list of Google Reader replacements.

5. The Old Reader

Google Chrome website
The Old Reader lets you browse news, check out what your friends are looking at, and even make comments.

As the name implies, the old reader is a classic take on the tried-and-true Google Reader. The Old Reader site is currently in Beta, but it’s off to a promising start. The interface is simple with a bright red and green interface, and you can import your old RSS feeds and lists from Google. The app also lets you discuss posts with friends and follow their news feeds.

Is there an app? No, not yet anyway.

Cost? Free.
