The 5 best Google Doodle games ever

Interactive doodles have become a staple of Google’s home screen, and a way to highlight the achievements of people, such as the creators of Pac-Man, to major world events, such as the Olympics. Check out some of the best Google Doodle games ever created.

5. Google Doodles head to the Olympics

Google focused on a lesser-known Olympic sport by creating a canoe slalom game during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Google is no stranger to celebrating the Olympic games. In fact, one of their first Doodles ever was dedicated to the Sydney Games in 2000, featuring a smiling kangaroo holding the Olympic torch. During the London 2012 Olympics it really stepped up its game by creating a series of interactive games to get people in the Olympic spirit.

The stand-out? A canoe slalom. Unlike big summer sports such as gymnastics or soccer, canoeing isn’t known as a staple Olympic sport. It is no pleasant paddle in the pond. Olympic canoers brave whitewater rapids and jagged rocks as they weave their way through various check-points. Google highlighted this unique sport through an interactive game where Google users directed their canoe through a course and are rated on their speed and hit check-points at the end. Now you definitely won’t switch the channel when Olympic canoeing is on the next summer games.
