Consumers can take advantage of loyalty programs to earn points for up to 30 cents off per gallon at select gas stations. Sometimes this means joining a discount or warehouse club, so make sure the savings are worth the membership fee. Certain credit cards also offer cash back or points worth up to 3 percent or more of your gasoline purchase.
