Iraq’s highest Shiite leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, puts it this way: “A serious effort should be made to realize justice in different societies based on human dignity. As required by the divine will in this matter, these measures can ultimately limit the conditions for the spread of extremist thoughts.”
