Clint Eastwood Chrysler Super bowl commercial: Facebook fans respond

If you didn’t see it aired on TV during halftime of the Super bowl Sunday, you’ve likely heard about it by now: The Clint Eastwood Chrysler commercial. Amid all the debate on the ad's perceived political stance, we took this question to our Facebook fans: After watching this video, do you think Chrysler came out with a pro-Obama commercial, or a patriotic commercial? We’ve culled their 127 comments and grouped the best here.

8. The thing about Chrysler...

Walt Witherington … As for patriotism, this explains who owns Chrysler:

"On June 10, 2009, Chrysler LLC emerged from a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization and substantially all of its operations were sold to a new company, Chrysler Group LLC, organized in alliance with the Italian automaker Fiat. Initially holding a 20% interest in Chrysler Group, Fiat's stake was increased to 58.5% (fully diluted) following acquisition of the equity interests held by the U.S. Treasury (6% on 3 June 2011) and Canada (1.5% on 21 July 2011)"

Gabriel Riva Funny cause over half of Chrysler is owned by Italian Fiat. How is it pro American?

Lee Woodward…And do remember Chrysler is half owned by a foreign entity and some say half by the US govt. - "FederalFiat!" Bottom line...good ad.

Kristin Larsen An honest commentary but unfortunately an ad for internal combustion engines that are so last century....
