Teens and young adults want to be on their own. No need to be a helicopter parent, but insist upon a specific time when they must return to the cabin. No child should wander about alone. And, if younger kids are in supervised activities, know when to pick them up.
Make sure children are familiar with the location of life jackets, assigned lifeboats, and other emergency facilities. When practical, if activities take family members in different directions, it makes sense to have assigned meetings places and times for regrouping.
