Muscle cars: Illegal 'Fast and Furious' importer to plead guilty

Muscle cars importer brought in $450,000 worth of Nissan Skylines and other Japanese cars made famous in the 'Fast and Furious' movie and sold them illegally.

Prosecutors say a former Orange County sheriff's deputy is expected to plead guilty to a federal charge involving the illegal importation of Japanese muscle cars made famous by "The Fast and the Furious" movies and selling them to enthusiasts and collectors.

Authorities said Monday that Daryl Alison has agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of removing the markings from an imported vehicle.

According to court documents, Alison's former company, Kaizo Industries, imported disassembled Nissan Skylines and other Japanese right-hand drive cars into California and sold them, though they did not comply with U.S. environmental and safety regulations.

Kaizo Industries also agreed to plead to a felony charge of failing to filed the required paperwork on the imported vehicles worth an estimated $450,000.
