You don't always need an advanced degree degree in order to make more than $100,000 a year. According to Glassdoor, a jobs and recruiting site, here are ten lesser-known occupations that earn a substantial salary. Can you guess which occupation is more lucrative than the rest? 

1. Reservoir engineer

Out of the ten occupations listed by Glassdoor, the reservoir engineer has the highest median pay listed. The position is similar to that of a petroleum engineer and involves working with oil and gas companies to extract oil from known reservoirs. Reservoir engineers are expected to estimate how much oil is in the reservoir and which method will prove best in extracting the oil. The position usually requires an engineering or petroleum engineering degree.
