CEO: Glenn Murphy

Average hourly worker wage: $8.67

CEO’s hourly compensation: $8,209 (947 times the average worker wage)

Overtime to CEO pay: 2.92 months

NerdWallet calculated the sample median for worker wages and CEO wages for the 10 companies on the list. Gap was one of three (along with McDonald’s and Dollar General) that paid the CEO above the median compensation ($7,334) but its workers below the median hourly wage ($8.73). Walmart, CVS, and Best Buy, on the other hand, pay their CEOs below the sample median but their employees above it.
