Fortune 500 Top 10 companies: Who’s the new No. 1?

Fortune has released its annual list of the largest corporations in the United States, and there were a few notable changes in this year’s group. Here are the Top 10.

4. Phillips 66

Fuel prices are changed at a ConocoPhillips gas station in Little Rock, Ark. ConocoPhillips split into two companies last year, and Phillips 66 replaces it on the Forbes 500.

ConocoPhillips split its exploration arm and refining arm into two separate companies last year, with its refineries, chemical operations, and energy transportation, marketing, and storage divisions operated by the new company, Phillips 66. The name is the well-known brand of Phillips Petroleum, founded in 1917 and which merged with Conoco in 2002. In the Fortune 500 ranking, Phillips 66 took the place of ConocoPhillips.
