Here are new income tax provisions to watch for as you work through your 1040 form:

Traffic crosses the Interstate 5 bridge spanning the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington. For 2012, the mileage deduction for business travel by car was 55.5 cents per mile, up 4.5 cents from the first half of 2011.

Inflation has pushed them up for the 2012 tax year, whether it's the standard income deduction (up $150 to $5,950 for single filers), the income limits for the earned income credit (up $1,192 for a family with three children filing jointly), or the mileage deduction (up 4.5 cents from the first half of 2011 to 55.5 cents per mile in 2012).
