As the debate over gun control rages on, the firearms industry in the United States is thriving. Here are seven key figures.

The mean annual salary of a worker in the gun industry, according to First Research. The high figure is due to the fact that the gun industry is less automated than many other manufacturing sectors, requiring more skilled labor.

According to the NSSF, approximately 98,750 workers are employed directly by the firearms industry. Another 111,000 are employed indirectly – by suppliers and retailers.
