The Olympics has clear-cut rules, known by all participants, and universally applied. A global economy functions best when the same rules apply everywhere. This doesn't always happen, currently. Bribery and corruption reign in some countries. Subsidies and trade barriers still favor some companies over others. It's the job of the World Trade Organization and other international organizations to provide business with clear-cut rules and enforce them.
