Ceiling fans can circulate a cold breeze in the summer and warm air in the winter. To maximize the efficiency of your ceiling fan, set it to rotate counterclockwise.

Ceiling fans are very affordable to run, and by circulating cool air, your air conditioning won't need to run as often. Just make sure fans are set to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction - this draws cool air upward, and is the most efficient setting for the hot summer months.
