In the aftermath of several recent disasters at sea, cruise prices are now 25 to 33 percent lower than last year's prices, reports Nancy Dunnan, publisher of the TravelSmart newsletter in New York City. Some cruise lines also are offering such enticements as free air transportation to a port city or no charge for children traveling with their parents. "Repositioning" cruises – one-way travel on ships moving between their seasonal cruising regions – can cost up to 50 percent less than the standard cruise rate. Experts suggest checking with travel agents specializing in cruises or visiting websites such as RepositioningCruise.com to find deals.
