Ms. Rinehart is the richest person in Australia, the richest woman in the Asian Pacific, and ranks number 19 on Forbes’s list of the world’s most powerful women. The bulk of her money is in iron ore mining, and her fortune doubled in January thanks to a merger with a South Korean steel giant, Posco. Rinehart lives in Perth, Australia, and is widowed with four children (she is currently in a legal battle over her fortune with three of them).
