Introduced by the Ohio based toy company Kenner products, the original Easy-Bake Oven looked like your grandmother’s stove range and retailed for $15.95. Heated by two 100-watt incandescent light bulbs, the toy oven came with cake mix and two baking pans. Aspiring young bakers would mix the batter in the pan, put it in one end of the oven, press a button, and wait for a finished cake to pop out the other end.
Since the 1960s, Easy-Bake Oven has undergone several cosmetic makeovers (the new ones look more like microwaves than conventional ovens), and upgraded to a more energy efficient heating source.
