Director Steven Spielberg will reportedly be creating a virtual world with a film adaptation of the novel “Ready Player One.”

Ernest Cline’s book “Ready,” which was released in 2011, centers on Wade Watts, who is living in 2044 in a world where most people spend the majority of their time in OASIS, a virtual reality. Wade finds clues left by the creator of OASIS that could lead to big winnings, but others are trying for the same prize.

Amazon selected the book as one of the best released in that month and now Spielberg has come aboard for the movie adaptation, according to Deadline

Spielberg is also directing an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book “The BFG.”
