Stephen King's 'Mr. Mercedes' could become a TV show
Another of Stephen King’s novels is coming to television.
King’s book “Mr. Mercedes,” which was released in 2014, is reportedly being adapted for the small screen by Sonar Entertainment, according to Deadline. It will be a limited series and David E. Kelley, best known as creator of such TV series as “Boston Legal” and “Ally McBeal,” is adapting the novel.
“This is an amazing opportunity to adapt a script from material penned by one of the world’s most acclaimed and accomplished authors,” Kelley said in a statement. “Mr. Mercedes is a great story that will translate beautifully to the screen if I don’t mess it up.”
Jack Bender, who has directed episodes of the CBS series “Under the Dome” that is based on the Stephen King book of the same name, is set to direct
“Mercedes” centers on a retired police detective who tries to track down the person who drove into a crowd of people at a job fair.
