Philip Roth (despite retirement) will appear on 'The Colbert Report'

Perhaps legendary author Philip Roth isn’t quite done with public appearances.
Roth announced in 2012 that he was finished with writing and, earlier this month, told a reporter that his reading in Manhattan was “absolutely the last appearance I will make on any public stage, anywhere,” according to the New York Times.
Possibly the author isn’t counting a TV show as a public stage, but Roth will reportedly be appearing on “The Colbert Report” as part of Stephen Colbert’s ongoing book club (known as “cOlbert’s Book Club in what the host said is a reference to the group headed by Oprah Winfrey). Colbert has previously tackled the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and J.D. Salinger via the club and Roth is set to appear sometime in July.
Roth has said that his 2010 novel “Nemesis” will be his last book.
