Donna Tartt’s novel “The Goldfinch” will reportedly be adapted by “The Hunger Games” producer Nina Jacobson and her production company Color Force – they’re just not sure how yet.
According to TheWrap, Jacobson said she and those at Color Force will produce an adaptation but that they haven’t decided on the medium.
“We are looking for the right filmmaker, and then we'll choose the right home based on that filmmaker,” she told TheWrap. “We've been thinking we are more likely to make a limited series for TV. There's so much scope to the book. At the same time, a filmmaker could come in with a perspective that changes our mind.”
“The Goldfinch” was released this past October and is currently at number five on the New York Times combined print and e-book fiction bestseller list for the week of March 16. We named it one of the best fiction books of the year and Monitor fiction critic Yvonne Zipp compared the novel to Dickens because of its "big, entertaining plot and the orphan who gets swept along on adventures."
