Fans waiting impatiently for the third season of the BBC series “Sherlock” were rewarded with a trailer for the new episodes.
The clip is less than 30 seconds long and is short on details, with quick glimpses of stars Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the title detective, and Martin Freeman, who takes on the role of sidekick Watson.
The trailer also shows the silhouette of what looks like Cumberbatch, a man looking down a long hallway, and Freeman looking over papers. Sherlock Holmes was presumed dead in the finale of the second season, having faked his death by pretending to fall from a roof.
As pointed out by Deadline, a much longer segment aired at Comic-Con in July, when the show’s creators played a section of season three’s second episode which included Holmes at Watson’s wedding, delivering a speech as best man.
The third season of “Sherlock” is scheduled to air in America on PBS in 2014.
