Two books that chronicle the '60s

If you're interested in "Girls Like Us," Sheila Weller's new music bio about the loves and lives of Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Carly Simon, I've got another book to add to your reading list.

Be sure not to miss Sara Davidson's 1997 book "Loose Change: Three Women of the 60s."

This is Davidson's story of herself and two sorority sisters at the University of California, Berkeley, in the early 1960s.

It's a true zeitgeist piece and expertly captures an America at the crossroads of tumultuous social change.

If you were there, you'll recognize it. If not, you may find yourself wishing that you had been.
