I'm reading an excellent nonfiction book, Upstairs at the White House: My Life with the First Ladies by J.B. West and Mary Lynn Kotz. It covers six presidential families, FDR through the Nixons. West was Chief Usher at the White House and oversaw a staff of over 100 employes and almost everything else that went on.
