Reader recommendation: Curse of the Pogo Stick

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

I just finished a delightful book in the mystery category that introduced me to a series. Curse of the Pogo Stick is the unlikely title of a book set in Laos, 1977, where I met Dr. Siri Paiboun (reluctant national coroner), his fiancée Madame Daeng, and nurse Dtui. It was suspenseful, gentle, charming, funny, and well-written. It immersed me in another time and exotic place. I look forward to reading more in this series by Colin Cotterill.
