Reader recommendation: Thrive

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

Arianna Huffington's latest book Thrive is fascinating although it is also alarming to read about the influence of money and power on the concept of success. Huffington writes about a "third metric" which touts redefining success in the context of well-being, wisdom, wonder, and giving. So far I've only read through the section about well-being but am impressed with Huffington's research and statistics suggesting that our society has become too digitized. (That's really no surprise when I observe college students glued to their smartphones and Blackberrys!)
