Reader recommendation: The Invisible Bridge

I just finished reading The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer and find that I cannot stop thinking about it, about the characters and the world they inhabit.  With compelling prose, Orringer tells the story of two devoted brothers, Hungarian Jews, whose lives and ambitions are abruptly and cruelly thwarted by the advent of World War II.  That description is woefully inadequate to convey the beauty and power of this epic first novel.
