"All Involved" writer Gattis's new novel focuses on Ricky "Ghost" Mendoza Jr., who is a safecracker for the DEA, among others. When someone he knows needs money, Ghost decides to steal money, hoping neither gangs nor the government will notice. The book is "very visceral and it's ... very dark at times ... but it's also fun," Schluep says.
