10. 'The Mockingbird Next Door,' by Marja Mills

"To Kill A Mockingbird" author Harper Lee has never courted fame, so Chicago Tribune writer Mills received an unusual opportunity when she moved in next door to Lee and her sister in the town of Monroeville, Ala. with the siblings' permission and spent a year and a half getting to know the family. "It's a very gentle, lovely book about an author that I think everyone is curious about," says Nelson.
