Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

"Virtual Reality" reminds us that the internet has its pitfalls, what with the online proliferation of hoaxes, scams, quackery, sockpuppetry, impersonation, and false news. Author Charles Seife urges us to exercise caution when using the web, but also advises us on how to unmask fakery before its perpetrators fleece, compromise, or simply embarrass us.
