10 best books of May 2014, according to Amazon's editors

Amazon staff says these titles are the best books to come out this month.

7. 'The Three,' by Sarah Lotz

"Three" is the first novel of Lotz's published under her actual name. The book tells the story of four strange plane crashes, all of which occur within hours of one another and all for inexplicable reasons. In three out of the four disasters, only a child survives, and the three children are called signs of the apocalypse by an influential minister. Nelson says she read the novel while the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 crisis was occurring – a disconcerting coincidence – but it did make her aware that the book is "certainly topical." She calls it "a very spooky story."
