Actress Penelope Wilton, who portrays Isobel Crawley, says she was impressed with how "Downton" handled the reactions of her and Michelle Dockery (Mary) to the death of Matthew, who was her son and Mary's husband. "The death knocked her sideways, as it would any mother," Wilton said. "In a lot of series, when someone dies, everyone gets over it immediately. What Julian's done very well is that he's left Mary and myself having a very difficult time, which is much more realistic."
