2. 'Furious Cool,' by David and Joe Henry

Debut authors David and Joe Henry look at the life of comedian Richard Pryor, including Pryor's troubled childhood, his rise to fame, his struggles during his career, and his legacy as one of the best American comedians of all time. Nelson says she was impressed by the book's format. "It's not just a 'he was born,' 'he did this'," she says of "Furious." "It's kind of vignettes at stages of his life.... it's a much more creative way of presenting it."
