10 best books of July 2013, according to Amazon's editors

Amazon editorial director Sara Nelson shares her thoughts about the 10 best books of July, according to the editors at Amazon.

11. "'Fiend," by Peter Stenson – featured debut and bonus book

Amazon selected "Fiend" as its debut pick for the month. Stenson's novel follows meth addict Chase Daniels, who finds that, when the end of the world arrives, it may provide an opportunity for him to turn his life around. Nelson says that while the story has the trappings of a sci-fi novel – zombies are involved – the heart of the story is Chase's attempt to clean up his life. "It's really a kind of coming-of-age novel," she says. "It has a kind of wicked wit."
