Ok, so you and I know that Gendry is important, and apparently Melisandre knows that he is important, but can we get to the part where he is actually important? He's helped out Arya a bit, he's been taken in by Melisandre, and he's done a brief stint in jail. Now he's running away in a rowboat. But there has to be more to him than that! Is anyone else expecting great things from him? Or maybe we are just supposed to slowly fall in love with how nice he is and then cry when he gets a death scene? George R.R. Martin wouldn't do that to us, would he?
