5. Two overshadowed stars

West thinks Rick Barry and John Stockton probably didn’t get their due as great players. In his estimation, Barry, who led the Golden State Warriors to the 1975 NBA championship, was on par with Larry Bird, but he lacked Bird’s popularity. Stockton was an incredible play-making guard with the Utah Jazz for 19 years, but the Jazz were never able to win a championship, although they were runners-up to the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls in 1997 and 1998.
