"We've got our own telephone! – all our own now. [The Wehlens had been using a pay phone in their building.] I feel so civilized! Lakeview 7072! That's us: and you don't have to put a nickel in either and it's [the] French type – all in one, you know. Yesterday by some accident while I was waiting for my number, I got another call! It's a party line."
