The second side of Abbey Road – and the band itself – needed a proper ending. This is where the Beatles ride into the sunset with guitars blazing and credits rolling. Who better than Paul to pull it off with mega-style? Those final notes, hanging in the air with its tear-inducing coda, "and in the end...." was an indescribably beautiful and – at the same time – bitter pill to to swallow. Bless Sir Paul's beknighted heart for continuing to come out to play these magnificent songs for his lifelong fans.
Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight
I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations I break down.
And finally (sniff):
The End
And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make
