"Batman Vol. 1: The Court of Owls" is by far the best of the new DC comics. Writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo manage an amazing accomplishment, creating a great new (and really creepy) set of villains for the Dark Knight: the Court of Owls and their enforcer Talon. The Court is a secret society that has been in the shadows of Gotham City for decades. This is a great Batman story, giving the Caped Crusader an adversary that even he didn’t see coming. Batman also learns of the Court's ties with his family and former ward Robin, aka Dick Grayson.
