On the list of comics that will be offered this year for 2012's FCBD, the comic books are divided into Gold and Silver categories. Participating comic book stores will be carrying a certain number of titles in each category, but those comic books offered in the Gold category are usually from higher-profile comic book publishers like DC and Marvel. All the comics are selected by a organization of retailers which are chosen to participate by the company Diamond Comic Distributors.
