Billionaire inventor Tony Stark created his superpowered suit of armor to keep his heart functioning and to escape kidnappers. He is constantly updating the armor’s look and abilities. He was a founding member of the Avengers along with Thor, Antman, the Wasp, and the Hulk. Besides lending his superpowers to the team, Stark uses his vast wealth to provide the Avengers with a headquarters, transportation, and any other equipment they may need. His also pays the salary of the team’s butler Jarvis, who is an important character in his own right.
