The 1975 film "The Land That Time Forgot" was based on Burroughs' novel about a man who is shipwrecked on a landmass where dinosaurs still roam and men live alongside them. The movie starred "The Virginian" actor Doug McClure as main character Bowen Tyler, and a sequel to the movie titled "The People That Time Forgot" was later released.
